Eye Phone Group launched a new their new mobile app, called TeenAgree at an event prelude to the Teen Choice Awards in Hollywood, CA. The morbid statistics behind teen driving safety were the driving force behind the development of this application. The app can be used on iPhone and Android Smart Phones and can track multiple children. The 2011 Teen Choice Awards was the perfect venue for building awareness of this issue, and the new mobile solution, TeenAgree among teen celebrities.    Among those present at the Launch Party were Gage Golightly(The Troop), Brendon Eggertsen(Just Go With It), Kevin Sorbo(Hercules: The Legendary Journeys), Saige Ryan Campbell(House MD), Tinsel Korey(Twilight Saga) and Jennessa Rose(Glee 3D), Ariel Winter(Modern Family), Josh Sussman(Glee)

A recent study by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia found that teens who’s parents spoke with them about safe driving and set rules in a supportive way were significantly less likely to engage in risky driving behavior.

TeenAgree is set up as a means of jump-starting this important conversation. The cornerstone of this app is the safe driving agreement where teens pledge to follow the rules of driving by staying within a certain geographic area, driving under a preset speed limit, and not texting while behind the wheel. TeenAgree allows parents to unobtrusively hold their young drivers accountable, sending an alert in the event that the agreed upon limits are crossed or exceeded. Parents can also track their teen’s speed and location in real time or receive daily emails with information about their teen’s driving.

“It’s a perfect match,” says Eye Phone Group President Nathan Ooley, ”Teens are rarely without their smart phones, and with the increasing number of distractions young drivers face parents are looking for a way to enforce traffic laws and their own rules of driving.” As the father of a teen driver himself, Ooley believes that TeenAgree will be a great help for parents who want to monitor their teen’s driving habits and enforce safety rules without imposing on their young drivers.

TeenAgree isn’t just about parents, though. Because teen drivers can set their own boundaries and request changes to their area and speed limits, TeenAgree provides them with incentive to take charge of making safe driving decisions. Parents receive a notification when limit change requests are made, and can choose to approve or deny the request.

TeenAgree is available on the iTunes App Store, and Android Market. For more information see http://www.teenagree.com.
